Writing does not hold any intellectual interest for most students. It is as though it is a vaccination that needs to be endured. With this mental frame, their writings turn out are hard and dull. The papers they produced suffered vicariously from obscurity, incoherence, ambiguity, jargon, pedantry, mannerism or downright illiteracy—to say nothing of haphazard organization and fitfully recognizable spelling and punctuation. Student writers of these descriptions are thought of as “difficult” or “boring,” “long-winded” or “involved” as if these were inborn traits of characters and not failures of craftsmanship.

Clearly this state of affair is not limited to degree candidates in higher education.

In the movie, Moviegoers will hold on to their seats as they witness the four friends untangle themselves from the web. But will they come out of the villa alive?

My problem is that my room has just been painted and I hate the smell of paint a lot. It makes me dizzy. What can I do to eliminate the paint odor at the soonest possible time? I miss my bed very much.

A:

Paint fumes can really be toxic! Place a bowl full of ammonia (actually toxic, too, so don’t inhale!) or vinegar in a corner of your newly painted room and leave it overnight. This should absorb the dizzying fumes. Hang a healthy herb sachet on the doorknobs and cabinet handles.
